When we first started designing this facility we met the customers and with our architect as a group and made a list of unique problems that must be solved for the final design to function properly. There was the known fact of how many square feet of shop versus square feet office space was needed, but with their hog farming background they knew everyone would be required to remove their shoes at the office door to eliminated the tracking of manure, mud and disease throughout the building. The final design incorporated a crawl space so with a wood floor system to lessen the stress on people’s feet walking barefoot versus on hard concrete all day and the crawl space is used to house the heating and cooling systems for the building.
The building features a very large shop space and a multiple story office space with unique features like stone wainscot, cupola’s, very large sidewall door openings on the lined and insulated shop as well as high end interior finish on the office area.
